Strawberry Fair launches the Cambridge Band Competition 2012
DOWNLOAD THE APPLICATION FORM HERE
The one and only Cambridge Band Competition is back and is now open for entries. This is a fantastic opportunity for local Cambridge musicians to play to live audiences, including at the Strawberry Fair in June, and to be heard by professionals of the music industry.
The competition is a showcase for the best of the Cambridge music from acid jazz to zouk, from a cappella to heavy metal - it is open to musicians from all genres and of any age. Performances can be by a band, a solo artist or an ensemble.
This year we’re extending the deadline for demos to 5pm Tuesday 27th February, to give the bands plenty of time to find that track that will take them through to the heats.
The heats will be at the Portland Arms on the following Thursdays: 29 March, 5 April, 12 April, and 19 April. The date for the under-18s heat is to be confirmed. This year we have a Friday night @ The Junction 1 for the finals - Friday 27th April.
Bands must send tracks in on mp3 or via web-links only; no postal entries will be accepted this year. All tracks must be accompanied by an application form.
Prizes include £250 cash, performance slot at Strawberry Fair, performance slot at the Big weekender, photo shoot with Danny Sambuca. The best song will get studio time at Vertical Recording Studios |
