What will the well dressed Strawberry Fairy be wearing this spring? Well, that's up to you. We need new t-shirts, which will be on sale as soon as someone can come up with a design. We quite like the strawberry logo – but tell us what you think - email press@strawberry-fair.org.uk
….Your creativity
The entrance to the fair is a showpiece that welcomes Fair goers and attracts passersby. Andy, who heads up the décor team created a stunning gateway last year. Not one to rest on his laurels, Andy is aiming to craft three arches for year.
Don't leave all the work to him. If you can draw, build, paint, or sculpt, your skills are needed now. To be part of one of the most creative teams on the festival scene email iwanttohelp@strawberry-fair.org.uk and your artistry could be enjoyed by tens of thousands of people.
…And yes, your body
It takes a bit of fairy magic to make the Fair appear and disappear almost overnight – it also takes a massive effort on the part of volunteers like Neil, Ian and Dave to build a safe site and then return the common to its natural state for the community to enjoy. The Cambridge Band Competition is back and demo tracks are already winging their way to our eager ears. For Cambridge based musicians and singers this is THE competition you want to be in. It's open to all ages and welcomes music from all genres –from old skool to new wave, from folk to fusion and everything in between. So get your demo to us by 27 February for a chance to play at Strawberry Fair 2012.
Entries must be on MP3 or via a weblink and must be accompanied by an application form. No postal entries. Deadline is 5pm 27 February.
If you're not a musician or singer – tell someone who is. And remember to come and support them at the competition heats in March and April. Read more.
